We are working with a manufacturing client in Wayne County seeking a Purchasing Specialist
to support day-to-day supply chain operations. This role is responsible for placing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials arrive on time to support production demands. Pay Rate:$24-$26/hr
Schedule:
M-F 7am-3:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and availability
Identify and evaluate new suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency - Obtain and compare quotes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within an ERP system
- Review supplier acknowledgements and maintain accurate data
- Track orders and proactively expedite materials to meet production timelines
- Communicate delivery updates and delays to internal teams
- Resolve order discrepancies with suppliers
- Partner with Quality and Accounting on supplier and invoice issues
- Maintain reporting on order and expedite status
- Minimum 5+ years in an office, purchasing, or administrative role
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication skills with vendors and internal teams
- High attention to detail and follow-through
- Background in manufacturing, supply chain, or production scheduling
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
