Overview
Client is seeking a Project Manager to lead business-focused project delivery in a financial services environment. This role requires strong facilitation, planning, communication, risk management, and stakeholder leadership skills, with experience supporting risk management, payment services, regulatory remediation, controls, or operational review initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including virtual teams and third-party resources.
- Orient project team members on the standard project lifecycle framework.
- Ensure business partners understand project lifecycle expectations, quality milestones, transition point reviews, project standards, and project responsibilities.
- Support project registration, consolidation, prioritization, pipeline checkpoints, and delivery governance.
- Define and manage project scope, scope changes, objectives, requirements, deliverables, and value proposition across multiple stakeholders.
- Develop integrated project plans, identify dependencies and critical paths, and track/report milestones and status.
- Estimate resources needed to achieve project goals, track utilization, manage onboarding/offboarding, and monitor vendor performance.
- Identify, track, escalate, and resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and project risks with corrective or mitigating actions.
- Tailor project methods and metrics, support version control, adhere to project policies and standards, and manage deliverable reviews and sign-offs.
- Lead communication planning, execution, and reporting with project teams and key stakeholders.
- Support change management planning, design, implementation, communication, and training.
- Manage documentation, knowledge transfer, and lessons-learned reviews.
- Manage vendor contract execution and ensure adherence to contract provisions.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
- Three or more years of project management experience required.
- 5 years of project management experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Experience with standard project development and project management methodologies and tools.
- Financial services project management experience.
- Experience with risk management, regulatory remediation, payment services, controls, or operational review activities.
- Ability to manage non-technical, business-focused projects.
- Strong facilitation, communication, planning, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and interact confidently with leadership.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, conflict management, and "connect the dots capability.
- Experience defining scope, managing dependencies, tracking milestones, escalating risks, and driving issue resolution.
- Skilled user of PowerPoint and Excel.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- PMP, CSM, SSM, or similar certification.
- Experience with both waterfall and agile project methodologies.
- Experience supporting payments, transaction flows, risk management, regulatory remediation, compliance, or controls-related initiatives.
- Experience managing vendor contracts and third-party resources.
- Experience benchmarking processes against industry best practices.
Work Details
- Remote role.
- Manager prefers candidates in the Buffalo, NY or Cleveland, OH area.
- Contract start date: 07/06/2026.
- Contract end date: 01/29/2027.
