We are seeking an experienced Project Buyer to support procurement activities for large industrial and capital projects. This role is responsible for sourcing equipment, materials, and services while ensuring procurement activities align with project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects in industries such as chemical, refining, manufacturing, power generation, or heavy industrial construction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement plans for capital and industrial projects.
  • Review project scopes, schedules, and procurement requirements.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and evaluate supplier proposals.
  • Source equipment, materials, and subcontracted services.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage supplier performance.
  • Monitor supplier delivery schedules and resolve procurement issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, construction, and operations teams.
  • Mentor less experienced procurement professionals when needed.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and purchasing records.
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage procurement activities and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement standards and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of project procurement or purchasing experience.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, EPC, or capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms and commercial negotiations.
  • Working knowledge of contract law and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
  • Experience with International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
