Training Systems Specialist / Training Coordinator

Position Overview

The Training Systems Specialist is responsible for the coordination, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of training systems that support Manufacturing and related business functions. This role develops and enhances training programs, maintains training system controls, supports manufacturing training personnel, and drives process improvements through innovative training solutions and technology enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing training systems within a regulated manufacturing environment, strong project management skills, and the ability to analyze training data, identify gaps, and implement effective solutions that support compliance and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Training Systems Administration & Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain training systems that support Manufacturing and peripheral business groups.
  • Identify organizational training needs and recommend effective training methods and solutions.
  • Coordinate ongoing and recurring training activities for Manufacturing Training Assistants and other personnel.
  • Implement and maintain training system controls to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Support and participate in global training initiatives and system standardization efforts.

Training Effectiveness & Gap Analysis

  • Monitor training completion, certifications, and employee qualifications.
  • Analyze training data to identify knowledge and skill gaps within manufacturing teams.
  • Communicate training deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve workforce competency and training effectiveness.

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and improve quality-related training systems and processes.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues within existing training and quality systems.
  • Utilize customer feedback, system data, and process analysis to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure training processes support compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Systems Support & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot automated training systems and related technologies.
  • Research system issues and implement solutions or coordinate with appropriate support teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and new technologies to improve training delivery and effectiveness.
  • Promote consistency across business systems and provide support for process improvement initiatives outside Manufacturing.

Project Management & Leadership

  • Plan, organize, and manage complex projects from concept through implementation.
  • Establish project priorities, timelines, and milestone schedules.
  • Independently develop and execute project plans and recommendations.
  • Lead initiatives requiring creativity, innovation, and independent decision-making.
  • Solve complex business and system-related problems through analysis and interpretation of processes and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by developing and implementing new processes and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience administering training systems, learning management systems (LMS), or training programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience analyzing data and preparing documentation, reports, and recommendations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement process improvements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a regulated manufacturing or quality systems environment.
  • Knowledge of training compliance, certifications, and workforce development programs.
  • Experience supporting global training initiatives.
  • Familiarity with automated training systems, learning management systems (LMS), or quality management systems (QMS).
  • Continuous improvement, Lean, or process optimization experience.
