Production Team Lead 3rd shift
3rd shift: M-F 11pm to 7am
Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader
to join a growing manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for coordinating daily production activities, supporting team members, maintaining quality and productivity standards, managing materials, and ensuring production and shipping requirements are completed accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate will have previous production experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare documents, production sheets, reports, and other related paperwork as required by the contracting customer.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and ensure important information is shared with other members of the workstation.
- Motivate team members to perform to the best of their abilities and consistently meet production expectations.
- Assign individuals to specific job tasks based on their capabilities and the needs of the production team.
- Communicate issues proactively to help minimize downtime whenever possible.
- Demonstrate job duties and procedures to workers and observe team performance to ensure compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.
- Encourage all production team members to stay on task and consistently meet quality and throughput goals.
- Communicate objectives, expectations, and results to team members on a regular basis.
- Ensure workers have the materials and supplies necessary to complete their assigned tasks.
- Verify production counts and record completed work on daily production sheets.
- Enter and transfer production information into customer databases or customer profiles as required.
- Ensure all daily reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Assist with the preparation and shipment of finished goods to contracting customers.
- Keep supervisors informed of issues related to contract performance, including delays or other concerns that could impact on-time completion.
- Communicate worker performance related to quality and quantity to support appropriate recognition and performance evaluations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Perform inventory management duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of previous production experience.
- Previous team lead, lead operator, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong inventory management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate production records.
- Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with production team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
