General Summary

This is an entry-level position within the manufacturing department. The Production Operator is primarily responsible for performing weigh-up and packaging duties while ensuring high-quality production at the lowest possible cost. This role supports meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Obtain and review correct batch documentation.
  • Ensure proper ingredients are delivered to the work area.
  • Measure and weigh ingredients according to recipe specifications.
  • Set up and operate weigh-up and packaging machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and operating procedures.
  • Monitor equipment and notify appropriate personnel of any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Process materials safely and efficiently, including batching, screening, cutting, packaging, and/or palletizing according to customer specifications.
  • Supply and support production operations to maintain continuous equipment functionality.
  • Perform required machine cleaning and sanitation.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation accurately.
  • Follow all safety rules, regulations, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and perform movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling tools, materials, and controls.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (talk and hear).
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds; occasionally handle up to 250 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection required in designated areas).
  • Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and humid conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and electrical hazards.
  • Regular interaction with moving mechanical parts.
