General Summary
This is an entry-level position within the manufacturing department. The Production Operator is primarily responsible for performing weigh-up and packaging duties while ensuring high-quality production at the lowest possible cost. This role supports meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain and review correct batch documentation.
- Ensure proper ingredients are delivered to the work area.
- Measure and weigh ingredients according to recipe specifications.
- Set up and operate weigh-up and packaging machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and operating procedures.
- Monitor equipment and notify appropriate personnel of any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Process materials safely and efficiently, including batching, screening, cutting, packaging, and/or palletizing according to customer specifications.
- Supply and support production operations to maintain continuous equipment functionality.
- Perform required machine cleaning and sanitation.
- Complete and maintain all required documentation accurately.
- Follow all safety rules, regulations, and housekeeping standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and perform movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools, materials, and controls.
- Ability to communicate effectively (talk and hear).
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds; occasionally handle up to 250 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection required in designated areas).
- Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and electrical hazards.
- Regular interaction with moving mechanical parts.
