Requirements

Position Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment used to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid and dry chemical products. This position ensures products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications, quality standards, and company policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up, start, and operate production machinery while following all operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Weigh and measure raw materials according to production formulas and ensure the correct ingredients are supplied to the work area.
- Load ingredients and pre-blended materials into production equipment.
- Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues as they arise.
- Operate machinery used to mix, extrude, discharge, and handle materials according to established procedures.
- Inspect materials visually and physically to verify they meet quality specifications.
- Collect material samples for laboratory testing when required and make batch adjustments as directed.
- Report production issues or equipment concerns to the Production Lead or Shift Supervisor.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of production equipment.
- Complete all required production documentation, system transactions, logs, and reports while maintaining data accuracy.
- Participate in training, cross-training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout the shift.
- Frequently use hands to handle tools, materials, and equipment.
- Frequently lift and move up to 55 pounds.
- Occasionally move or assist with materials weighing up to 250 pounds.
- Must have close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, with the ability to adjust focus as needed.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include:
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toe shoes
- Gloves
- Dust mask or respirator
- Face shield
- Hearing protection
- Hard hat
- Chemical suit or apron
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing plant environment and regularly involves exposure to:
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Dust, fumes, and airborne particles
- Wet and humid conditions
- Vibration
- Outdoor weather conditions
- Non-hazardous chemical agents
- Occasional exposure to caustic chemicals and electrical hazards
Preferred Experience
Candidates with at least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred:
- Manufacturing
- Industrial operations
- Mixing and blending
- Extrusion
- Plastics industry
- Colorant manufacturing
- Mechanical manufacturing
- Problem-solving in a manufacturing environment
