About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to oversee 2nd shift manufacturing operations at a high-volume production facility in Tulsa. This leadership position is responsible for driving production performance, maintaining quality and safety standards, supporting workforce development, and ensuring operational goals are consistently achieved.
The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and can effectively balance productivity, employee accountability, and team engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Oversee all 2nd shift production activities to support output goals and customer requirements
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Ensure production targets, labor utilization, and operational expectations are consistently achieved
- Maintain accurate shift documentation, reporting, and production records
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support supervisors and production employees across the shift
- Conduct shift meetings, performance discussions, and employee coaching as needed
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and workforce planning activities
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive production culture
Safety & Quality
- Enforce company safety standards, OSHA compliance, and operational procedures
- Maintain high expectations for product quality and production consistency
- Support a culture focused on workplace safety, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
- Address production concerns quickly to minimize disruptions and quality issues
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Partner with maintenance, warehouse, and quality teams to resolve operational challenges
- Track and communicate production metrics including throughput, downtime, scrap, and labor efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow, and operational performance
- Support process improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience within manufacturing or production operations
- Previous experience managing production teams in an industrial environment required
- Experience overseeing shift-based manufacturing operations preferred
Leadership Capability
- Strong ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production setting
- Proven experience driving accountability, performance management, and employee engagement
- Hands-on leadership style with strong floor presence
Technical & Operational Skills
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, KPI-driven operations, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Education
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

This role operates primarily within a manufacturing and production environment and requires regular time on the production floor. Candidates should be comfortable working around industrial equipment, production noise, and varying temperatures typical of manufacturing operations.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the production facility
- Ability to work in an active industrial environment for extended periods
- Occasional bending, lifting, and movement throughout operational areas
Position Type / Schedule
Full-time position on 2nd shift. Additional overtime, extended hours, or weekend work may be required based on production demands.
