The Production Expediter is the logistics brain between press and finishing — responsible for breaking down multi-SKU skids, sorting jobs by downstream process, and staging work in the exact sequence finishing operators need it. This role determines whether a high-volume, high-visibility job flows cleanly or creates chaos. Accuracy and system-level thinking matter more than speed.
R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
• Break down incoming skids of mixed-SKU printed product and sort by job, SKU, and assigned finishing process
• Stage material in designated inbound lanes so operators can grab and run without hunting or asking questions
• Verify counts and SKU quantities against job tickets before releasing material to the next department
• Flag shorts, misprints, and mismatches to the Bindery Supervisor before material moves downstream
• Shrink wrap, box, band, and label finished skids and cartons for shipping
• Move skids between departments using manual and electric pallet jacks, keeping aisles and staging zones clear and organized
• Assist with general bindery work, skid consolidation, and end-of-shift cleanup
W H AT W E ' R E L O O K I N G F O R
• Warehouse or production floor experience — someone who has sorted, staged, and moved material in a fast-paced environment
• Instinct for order and accuracy — the kind of person who checks twice and feels bothered when a staging area looks sloppy
• Comfortable on your feet for a full 8–10 hour shift on concrete, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and moving loaded skids with a pallet jack
• Humble, dependable, and honest when something goes wrong — no guessing, no cutting corners
• Able to move between tasks (wrapping, boxing, bindery support, cleanup) without needing constant direction
N I C E TO H AV E
• Prior experience in a print manufacturing or bindery environment
• Familiarity with SKU systems, job tickets, or batch-based workflow environments
• Experience using handheld scanners or label printers
