Position Summary
The Production Coordinator / Production Scheduler supports manufacturing operations by coordinating production order execution, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring timely release of manufacturing orders through SAP. This position serves as a key link between Production Planning and Manufacturing by preparing, releasing, and distributing production documentation required for shop floor execution.

The role is responsible for releasing production orders, assembling production order packets, monitoring schedule adherence, and providing administrative support to planners to ensure efficient workflow and on-time production performance.

Key Responsibilities
Production Order Management
Release production orders in SAP in accordance with established planning and scheduling requirements.
Review released orders for accuracy and completeness prior to release to production.
Ensure production orders contain the appropriate documentation, routing, BOM, and work instructions.
Maintain production order status throughout the manufacturing process.
Monitor and communicate order priorities and schedule changes to manufacturing team

Production Packet Preparation
Print and assemble production order packets for manufacturing personnel.
Verify packets contain all required documentation, including:
Production orders
Bills of Material (BOM)
Routers/work instructions
Quality documentation
Engineering drawings and specifications


Distribute completed production packets to the appropriate production areas.
Maintain organized records of released and completed production orders

Production Scheduling Support
Support Production Planners in maintaining and executing manufacturing schedules.
Assist with schedule updates and order prioritization activities.
Monitor work center loading and report scheduling concerns to planners.
Track production progress and provide status updates on scheduled orders.
Coordinate with Production, Materials, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve scheduling issues.


SAP System Administration
Execute production transactions accurately within SAP.
Maintain production order data and system accuracy.
Support inventory transaction activities as required.
Generate reports and production data for planners and operations leadership.
Assist in identifying and correcting system discrepancies impacting production execution.


Communication & Coordination
Serve as a liaison between Planning and Manufacturing
Communicate production priorities and schedule changes to shop floor personnel.
Escalate material shortages, documentation issues, and scheduling conflicts.
Participate in daily production and planning meetings as required.


Continuous Improvement
Support initiatives focused on improving schedule attainment and production efficiency.
Identify opportunities to streamline order release and documentation processes.
Maintain compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.



Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
2 years of experience in manufacturing, production control, planning, scheduling, or related operations support roles.

Experience working within an ERP system, preferably SAP.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in production planning, scheduling, or production control.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.

Experience supporting SAP Production Planning (PP) and Material Management (MM) modules.

Familiarity with Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and work instructions.

Experience working in regulated or highly controlled manufacturing environments.
