Product Design Engineer

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can:
- Perform and interpret advanced simulation and FEA
- Develop and review product designs using CATIA
- Communicate confidently with customers to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve real-world application issues
- Perform structural FEA and simulation (linear and nonlinear) using tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, or equivalent
- Support durability, fatigue, impact, creep, and deformation analyses for plastic components
- Correlate simulation results with physical testing and field data
- Support failure investigations and root-cause analysis related to customer applications
- Support part and system-level design using CATIA V5/V6
- Review customer designs for geometry, manufacturability, and performance
- Propose design modifications or optimization recommendations based on analysis and testing
- Collaborate with internal R&D, testing, and manufacturing teams
- Serve as the technical interface between our team and customers (OEMs, Tier-1s, and processors)
- Lead technical discussions related to material performance, design assumptions, and failure mechanisms
- Support customer troubleshooting, including onsite or virtual technical reviews
- Clearly explain complex technical findings to diverse audiences, including non-CAE experts
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product design engineering, CAE/FEA analysis, or customer-facing technical engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with FEA/simulation tools (Abaqus, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, or similar)
- Working knowledge of CATIA for part or system-level design review
- Experience supporting thermoplastics (ABS, PC, PA, PBT, or similar)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience combining design ownership and CAE analysis in the same role
- Background in customer technical service, applications engineering, or field support
- Familiarity with plastics durability, fatigue, creep, or impact behavior
- Experience working directly with OEM or automotive customers
