Overview
Join a leading aerospace manufacturing company in Chandler, AZ, specializing in precision investment casting and machining for aerospace and industrial gas turbine components. We are seeking an experienced professional to enhance and optimize our investment casting processes, ensuring high-quality production and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead process development and continuous improvement initiatives for investment cast products.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes to meet customer and internal quality specifications.
- Improve product yields through data analysis, process optimization, mold design improvements, and gating enhancements.
- Establish process guidelines and provide technical direction to manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Support new product introductions from tooling through production launch.
- Analyze casting defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Train production personnel on new and revised manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to achieve project milestones and meet production schedules.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing issues related to casting processes, metallurgy, and inspections.
- Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions regarding process development and quality improvements.
- Support fixture development and ensure manufacturing tooling effectiveness throughout the casting process.
- Serve as a technical resource for production teams and provide engineering support as needed.
- Track engineering objectives and report progress to engineering leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience supporting products from tooling design through production launch.
- Strong knowledge of investment casting processes.
- Experience with aerospace or industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, blades, vanes, and vacuum cast components.
- Experience with defect analysis, Pareto analysis, MRB reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of metallurgical requirements, casting specifications, blueprints, and material specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface directly with customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive investment casting experience.
- Proven track record of supporting products from tooling development through full-rate production.
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
