Nesco Resource is in search of a Principal Inventory & Production Control Specialist to work for one of our clients based in Bethel, CT.
SUMMARY:
The Principal Inventory and Production Control Specialist leads inventory accuracy and production control activities to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role manages cycle counting, investigates inventory discrepancies, manages work order release and ensures accurate material transactions, and partners with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues. The position also develops performance metrics and reporting, drives process improvements, and supports ERP and operational excellence initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and manufacturing performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and manage the site's cycle count program.
- Analyze cycle count results and inventory accuracy trends.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and transaction errors.
- Perform root cause analysis of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Support cycle count audit activities.
- Monitor inventory health, including excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Manage work order release and tracking to support production schedules.
- Ensure accurate material issuance, consumption, and completion transactions within the ERP system.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Finance and Purchasing teams to resolve material-related issues.
- Monitor work order performance and identify bottlenecks impacting production flow.
- Develop and maintain inventory and production performance metrics.
- Create reports and dashboards to track inventory accuracy, work order status, cycle count compliance, and manufacturing performance.
- Analyze trends and recommend process improvements to reduce inventory variances and improve throughput.
- Support ERP system enhancements and process standardization efforts.
- Lead or participate in inventory control and operational improvement projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-6+ years relevant experience
- Strong inventory control knowledge
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Advanced ERP/MRP system knowledge
- Strong computer skill
- Epicor ERP experience
- Experience in inventory management or supply chain operations
- Familiarity with GMP/ISO standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Lifting requirements up to 40 lbs. as needed
- Fast-paced, physically demanding work environment
- 3 month temp to hire (benefits available through Nesco)
- First shift, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
