Overview
Client is seeking a Principal Experience Designer to lead strategy and delivery for customer experience products and capabilities. This senior individual contributor will apply UX/UI, customer experience, and product design expertise to develop digital products that create meaningful, seamless, and compliant experiences for patients, healthcare professionals, and internal users.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience owning the complete product design lifecycle and can clearly articulate their personal contributions, design process, collaboration approach, and measurable impact. A portfolio is required.
Core Responsibilities
- Shape the experience design vision, strategy, standards, and product design practices.
- Translate business priorities, user needs, research findings, technical capabilities, and industry trends into digital product experiences.
- Own design initiatives across product visioning, roadmap development, feature prioritization, execution, delivery, adoption, and impact measurement.
- Define target users in partnership with analytics and research teams.
- Prioritize product features and functionality while balancing business requirements with an exceptional end-user experience.
- Develop innovation workstreams that encourage experimentation and new product capabilities.
- Partner with senior business stakeholders, product owners, technical teams, analytics teams, and global product managers.
- Align business outcomes with technical feasibility, system performance, and customer experience requirements.
- Communicate the value, strategy, and roadmap of UX/UI and CX design to senior leaders and enterprise stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder priorities, resolve conflicts, and support the advancement of product roadmaps and enhancements.
- Gather, align, and implement stakeholder feedback while maintaining broader business objectives.
- Define business cases and support product budget and funding requirements.
- Establish business requirements for product usage, system health, adoption, and sustained engagement.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to ensure products meet governance and regulatory standards.
- Partner with measurement and optimization teams to improve customer experience and UX operations.
- Mentor and coach junior experience design team members.
- Promote strong design craft, quality, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, operations, science, marketing, or a related field.
- 10 years of professional experience, including 7 years in experience design, product design, UX design, or a related field.
- Experience owning and managing the complete product lifecycle, including visioning, roadmap creation, execution, and impact measurement.
- Strong UX/UI, customer experience, and digital product design expertise.
- Experience aligning cross-functional stakeholders around product strategy, priorities, and delivery.
- Experience presenting design work and clearly explaining personal contributions, design decisions, process, collaboration, and impact.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and communicating product and design vision.
- Experience coaching or mentoring designers.
- Experience working in an Agile environment or introducing Agile best practices to a design team.
- Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams.
- Ability to balance short-term execution with long-term product and experience strategy.
- Portfolio link or PDF demonstrating relevant design work.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience, such as an MBA or related graduate-level qualification.
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience managing complex initiatives requiring strategic planning and operational execution.
- Advanced knowledge of workflow tools, automation systems, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience building and managing a design system.
Work Details
- Hybrid working model with three days onsite and two days remote.
- Three-round video interview process:
- Hiring Manager interview: 30 minutes.
- Panel interview and portfolio presentation: 45 minutes.
- Final interview: 45 minutes.
- A portfolio presentation is required during the interview process.
