Press Weld Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve individual and department goals. Demonstrate the ability to effectively run the department in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Assign daily tasks, establish priorities, and ensure production schedules and customer commitments are met.
  • Monitor department operations to ensure quality, accuracy, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Support press welding machine setups, tooling changes, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld specifications, and work instructions to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, and maintain 6S standards.
  • Provide daily and weekly production updates, identify commitments at risk, and recommend recovery options to maintain on-time delivery.
  • Ensure employees accurately record hours, complete required inspections, and maintain accurate production documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 2 years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or welding environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of press welding, welding processes, manufacturing operations, equipment, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, weld symbols, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
  • Effective leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience working with an ERP or manufacturing management system.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Salary: $28 to $32/hour based on experience
Shift: 2 nd shift working 3 pm to 1130 pm
Temp to Hire opportunity with the company.
