PLC Programmer / Controls Technician
Position Summary
Growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a PLC Programmer / Controls Technician to support automation systems, electrical controls, and industrial equipment operations. This role combines PLC and HMI programming with hands-on electrical troubleshooting, panel fabrication, system testing, and customer support.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial automation systems and possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation systems.

Configure and support HMI interfaces and operator control systems.

Program and integrate VFDs, temperature controllers, and related automation devices.

Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels and electrical assemblies.

Perform point-to-point wiring and electrical troubleshooting.

Utilize multimeters and diagnostic equipment to test and verify system functionality.

Support equipment startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

Provide technical support to customers and assist with system integration and operational issues.

Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and workmanship.

Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to support project completion.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience.

Experience with industrial automation and electrical control systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

Experience with industrial control panel assembly and wiring.

Familiarity with HMI programming and industrial communication networks.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Technical degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms.

Experience with VFDs, HMIs, and industrial control devices.

Experience in manufacturing, automation, process equipment, or industrial environments.

Knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards.
Work Environment
This position operates in both office and industrial manufacturing environments. Candidates should be comfortable working around production equipment and machinery while following all safety requirements. Personal protective equipment may be required in designated work areas.
Physical Requirements
