Plaintiff Personal Injury Paralegal (5 Years of Experience)

Position Overview

Our client, a well-established plaintiff personal injury law firm, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal with at least 5 years of plaintiff-side litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of personal injury case management from intake through settlement or trial and demonstrate exceptional organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters from inception through resolution.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and gathering necessary information and documentation.

  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, subpoenas, authorizations, and correspondence.

  • Coordinate and track medical records, medical bills, lien information, and other case-related documentation.

  • Review, summarize, and organize medical records and treatment histories.

  • Assist attorneys with case investigations, liability analysis, and damages assessments.

  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), court appearances, and mediations.

  • Prepare settlement demand packages and assist with settlement negotiations.

  • Maintain accurate case files and manage deadlines through calendaring systems.

  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial binders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury paralegal experience.

  • Strong knowledge of New York personal injury litigation procedures and court rules.

  • Experience handling motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, wrongful death, and other personal injury matters.

  • Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage a busy caseload independently.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience preparing settlement demands and negotiating lien reductions.

  • Familiarity with e-filing systems and litigation support software.

  • Trial preparation experience
