The Leasing Assistant provides administrative and customer service support for the leasing and occupancy functions. This position assists with applications, eligibility documentation, rent-related documentation, and general resident inquiries. The Leasing Assistant works closely with applicants, the Leasing Manager, property management staff, and outside agencies to ensure that housing records and leasing activities are accurate, timely, confidential, and consistent with applicable public housing requirements and organizational policies; ensuring compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the intake and processing of housing applications and related documentation.
- Review submitted documents for completeness and identify missing or inconsistent information for follow-up.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments with applicants for interviews, document collection, orientations, and other housing-related activities.
- Assist with the collection and verification of required household, income, asset, and expense information.
- Enter and maintain accurate information in property management computer systems.
- Assist residents with questions concerning rent, lease requirements, maintenance procedures, community rules, and available services, referring complex matters to the appropriate staff member.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and applicant information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
- Provide courteous, professional, and respectful customer service to residents and applicants.
- Respond to telephone calls, emails, written inquiries, and walk-in requests or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma
Licenses and Screening
Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license and fully insurable driving record. Must have the ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug, criminal and driving screening. Must be able to obtain Act 33 and 34 Clearances.
Knowledge
Must be able to carry out written and oral instructions. Must be able to work well with the program participants, subordinates and co-workers. Must have knowledge of professional business office practices.
Working Hours: Monday thru Friday 9am to 1pm
Starting Wage: $17 per hour
