About the Opportunity
A well-established Long Island law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal / Legal Assistant
to join its busy litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who is comfortable handling a fast-paced caseload and working closely with attorneys.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting litigation matters, with a background in Medical Malpractice, No-Fault, or Personal Injury
considered a significant plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal and administrative support to attorneys.
- Assist with managing an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Track case deadlines, court dates, filings, and other important litigation events.
- Assist with discovery, including organizing medical records, bills, reports, and other case materials.
- Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, courts, and other parties as needed.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical case files.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and other case-related projects.
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Perform other legal support duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred.
- Litigation experience strongly preferred.
- Medical Malpractice experience is a major plus.
- No-Fault experience is a major plus.
- Personal Injury experience is a major plus.
- Experience with pleadings, discovery, court filings, and case management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a legal team.
- Strong computer and document-management skills.
- Paralegal certificate or college degree is a plus, but relevant experience will be considered.
