Summary:
Review orders and determine appropriate product to pull for shipment, customer shipping requirements, method of shipment, labeling and packing. Determine the most feasible and economical containers to satisfactorily meet Morris and customer shipping requirements. In the absence of specific customer directions, determine economically best way to pack and ship. Work toward continuous quality and product flow improvement.
Essential Functions:
Pull appropriate product for shipment.
Check parts before packing. Visually inspect and measure wall thickness and OD of pipe and tubing. Inspect for dents, abnormal scratches, rust, visible porosity, bad threads, squashed or out of round ends. Any questionable parts should be shown to Supervision for a decision on acceptance.
Assemble cardboard boxes by folding and taping. Boxes shall be selected and packed according to Morris packing requirements. For products that do not fit into standard boxes, assemble in bundles to ship by best method.
Use general math skills and calculator to check quantities. Use computer to record special packaging procedures.
Account for time and work completed via the data collection system, accurately and satisfactorily record the daily activity.
Safely and properly operate a forklift to handle/move materials to complete assigned work.
Ensures forklift is in good working order. All repairs required must be reported to maintenance.
Follow company and OSHA safety standards.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Able to identify various material types and gauges.
Able to read, write, understand and follow verbal and written English instructions to satisfactorily execute job requirements.
Able to work around moving equipment and operate forklifts.
Able to get along with others and supervision.
Able to satisfactorily fill out activity cards to report labor.
Able to react to change productively and perform other tasks as assigned.
Ability to get along with others and supervision and must have a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
High school education or equivalent.
Must not be afraid to work with and around moving machinery and equipment.
Work Environment:
Position may be performed on any shift as assigned, Monday through Friday. May work weekends, other shifts and extended daily hours as required.
May be exposed to noise levels to 110dB, dust and fumes. Will come into contact with glue and adhesives, light oil, marking oils, paint and dirt.
Personal Protection Equipment required to include but not limited to steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection.
Temperature range from 60 – 105 degrees winter and summer with humidity as high as 95%.
