Description: As a Technical Service Representative Defect Analyst – Automotive Coatings, you will represent *** at an automotive customer facility, providing hands-on technical service and data-driven support to meet customer quality, performance, and production requirements. This role is embedded on-site and focuses on defect analysis, process monitoring, digital reporting, and cross-functional communication to resolve paint-related issues, support ongoing production, and strengthen customer relationships. You will support both technical and commercial objectives through close collaboration with plant personnel, *** internal teams, and customer stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily paint shop operations by collecting, analyzing, and trending defect data.
Conduct structured trials and investigations to identify root causes of defects.
Evaluate process variability and recommend corrective actions based on data and observed conditions.
Utilize *** digital tools to capture critical quality and process data.
Organize findings into defect libraries to support problem-solving efforts.
Prepare reports summarizing trends, findings, and supporting images for internal and customer stakeholders.
Maintain continuous communication across the paint shop.
Participate in regular customer and internal meetings to review site projects.
Collaborate with other *** technical service and defect analysis team members for best practices.
Support special projects and site initiatives as required, including digital, quality, and process improvement efforts.
Leverage data and technical expertise to drive continuous improvement and strengthen customer confidence in *** solutions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 years of experience in automotive or industrial coatings, paint application environments, or Tier 1 automotive manufacturing.
oExperience with water-borne basecoat/clearcoat systems, OEM paint approval processes, and specifications preferred.
oProcess troubleshooting experience preferred.
Strong digital literacy, including use of data collection tools and technical report writing.
Valid U.S. driver s license
