Job Description:

This position is responsible for the production of high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The role involves detailed assembly and operation of various equipment and machinery according to documented procedures. Tasks may include electronic assembly, casting/coating functions, mechanical assembly, and packaging. Responsibilities also include cleaning tools and equipment per documented procedures and disposing of hazardous waste material in designated areas.

  • Assemble medical devices and related components, possibly in a controlled cleanroom environment.
  • Utilize microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering, adhesive bonding, and various equipment.
  • Perform routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures with close and continual review.
  • Conduct visual inspection and precision measurements on components and assemblies.
  • Perform tests on units using computerized test equipment.
  • Repair and correct devices/components using microscopes and applicable tools.
  • Package devices ensuring all parts are accurate and documentation is complete.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure travelers, shop floor paperwork, and quality documents are accurate, ensuring traceability and addressing quality issues.
  • Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices and equipment for all operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics.
  • Notify supervisor or lead of the need to replenish supplies/materials and report any production difficulties that cannot be readily corrected.
  • Participate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics to continuously improve the quality of operations.
  • Cooperate in maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment throughout the building.
  • Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow English written procedures at a 6th-grade level.
  • Good basic math skills at a 6th-grade level.
  • Ability to speak, follow verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
  • Good dexterity to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
  • Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance.
  • Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma required.
  • 2 years of experience.
