Job Description:
This position is responsible for the production of high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The role involves detailed assembly and operation of various equipment and machinery according to documented procedures. Tasks may include electronic assembly, casting/coating functions, mechanical assembly, and packaging. Responsibilities also include cleaning tools and equipment per documented procedures and disposing of hazardous waste material in designated areas.
- Assemble medical devices and related components, possibly in a controlled cleanroom environment.
- Utilize microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering, adhesive bonding, and various equipment.
- Perform routine assignments according to specified and standardized procedures with close and continual review.
- Conduct visual inspection and precision measurements on components and assemblies.
- Perform tests on units using computerized test equipment.
- Repair and correct devices/components using microscopes and applicable tools.
- Package devices ensuring all parts are accurate and documentation is complete.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure travelers, shop floor paperwork, and quality documents are accurate, ensuring traceability and addressing quality issues.
- Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices and equipment for all operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve quality and profitability metrics.
- Notify supervisor or lead of the need to replenish supplies/materials and report any production difficulties that cannot be readily corrected.
- Participate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics to continuously improve the quality of operations.
- Cooperate in maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment throughout the building.
- Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow English written procedures at a 6th-grade level.
- Good basic math skills at a 6th-grade level.
- Ability to speak, follow verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
- Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
- Good dexterity to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
- Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance.
- Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma required.
- 2 years of experience.
