Operations Support Technician

Job Summary

Amogy is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Operations Support Technician to support its engineering team during continuous testing operations. This temporary position will provide onsite safety and emergency support while engineers conduct testing of reformer systems.

The Operations Support Technician will work inside the control room alongside the test engineer during extended shifts. The primary responsibility is to remain alert, maintain reliable radio communication, recognize emergency situations, and take appropriate action—including activating the Emergency Stop (E-Stop) when authorized by training and site safety procedures.

This is a safety support position and does not involve operating or adjusting process equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Remain onsite in the control room throughout assigned shifts to support the test engineer.

• Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and identify potentially unsafe conditions.

• Recognize situations that require activation of the Emergency Stop (E-Stop).

• Independently activate the E-Stop when an emergency situation meets the criteria covered in site training and safety procedures.

• Use a two-way radio to communicate with engineers and designated site personnel.

• Know who to contact and how to request assistance if the test engineer becomes incapacitated.

• Promptly communicate safety concerns, emergencies, or unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.

• Follow all Amogy site safety rules, emergency procedures, and instructions.

• Maintain alertness and readiness throughout extended shifts.

• Support the engineering team by providing an additional onsite safety presence during continuous testing operations.

What This Position Does NOT Involve

The Operations Support Technician will not be responsible for:

• Monitoring the process on the control system or in the field.

• Changing process parameters on the control system.

• Responding to process alarms or trips.

• Turning valves in the field.

• Conducting field rounds.

• Operating process equipment.

• Performing process adjustments or troubleshooting.

• Performing maintenance or repair work.

• Performing engineering or process operator duties.

This position is strictly intended to provide onsite safety support, emergency communication, and emergency response as covered by training.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to speak and understand English well enough to communicate effectively in a safety-sensitive work environment.

• Ability to learn and follow emergency procedures, including when to activate an E-Stop.

• Ability to use a two-way radio effectively.

• Ability to identify and report safe and unsafe working conditions.

• Ability to understand and follow instructions from engineers and site leadership.

• Reliable attendance and ability to remain alert and attentive during extended shifts.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the engineering team.

• Comfortable working inside a control room at an industrial testing facility.

• Ability to work 12–13 hour shifts, including weekday nights and weekend days and nights.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience using two-way radios.

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, plant, security, site watch, or safety-sensitive environments.

• Experience identifying and reporting unsafe conditions.

• Familiarity with emergency communication procedures.

• Previous experience working alongside engineering or technical teams.

Work Schedule

The assignment will require flexibility to work extended shifts, including:

• Weekday night shifts.

• Weekend day shifts.

• Weekend night shifts.

• 12–13 hour shifts.

The exact schedule is TBD. The assignment is expected to continue through approximately October 22, 2026, based on current testing needs.

Work Environment

• Indoor control room.

• Extended periods of sitting and remaining attentive.

• Safety-sensitive industrial testing environment.

• Regular communication with engineers and site personnel via radio.

• Must follow all site-specific safety requirements and training.

Safety & Conduct

All employees and contractors are expected to follow Amogy's safety policies and site-specific procedures. The successful candidate will receive appropriate instruction on emergency procedures, radio communication, E-Stop activation, and emergency contacts before beginning the assignment.

The Operations Support Technician is authorized to independently activate the E-Stop only in accordance with the criteria and procedures covered by Amogy's training.

This position does not authorize the employee to operate process equipment, make process changes, respond to process alarms, or perform tasks outside the scope of their training and assigned responsibilities.
