Nesco Resource is seeking an Operations Manager to join our client's team located in New Haven County.
SUMMARY
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily manufacturing and supply chain operations for a well-established, highly technical manufacturer serving industries including Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and other advanced technology markets. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven manufacturing leader who is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment. This individual will bring strong problem-solving abilities, operational discipline, and a commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and employee development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across Production, Quality, Materials/Purchasing, Shipping, Tooling, Maintenance, and Facilities
• Establish operational priorities, KPIs, and accountability systems
• Drive improvements in throughput, labor efficiency, scrap reduction, setup time, and schedule attainment
• Implement and strengthen Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Improve workflow, manufacturing processes, inventory management, and facility utilization
• Drive initiatives toward 99% on-time delivery
• Support compliance with ISO and/or AS9100 quality standards
• Partner with Quality leadership to improve KPIs, corrective actions, response times, and PPM performance
• Oversee production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and supplier performance
• Support cost-reduction and supply-chain optimization initiatives
• Coach and develop managers, supervisors, and production personnel
• Partner with Human Resources on hiring, workforce planning, employee development, and performance management
• Promote a safe, professional, accountable, and collaborative manufacturing environment
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related discipline preferred
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within a technical manufacturing environment
• Minimum 5 years of management experience leading cross-functional operations teams
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing KPIs
• Working knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 quality systems preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
• Ability to drive accountability and build high-performing teams
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and business reporting skills preferred

• Salary range: $150K; may be willing to go higher for the right candidate
