Benefits: Healthcare, 401(k)-type retirement plan, paid holidays, and negotiated paid time off.
Position Overview
We're a small business with a straightforward philosophy: work hard, take care of customers, solve problems, and have some fun along the way. Our culture is informal, occasionally irreverent, and focused on getting results. We take our business seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
We're looking for a hands-on Operations Manager/Financial Controller to oversee daily operations, manage a small team, and keep the financial and administrative sides of the business running smoothly. This is not a desk-only management role. The successful candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, managing details, solving problems, and stepping in wherever needed.
We need someone who is organized, adaptable, financially savvy, and capable of bringing order to the occasional chaos of a small business. We're looking for a long-term team member who takes ownership, embraces change, and is motivated by customer satisfaction and business success.
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage daily operations and lead a small team with responsibilities for bookkeeping, customer service, shipping and receiving, and inventory management.
-
Oversee QuickBooks, financial reconciliations, vendor true-ups, and commodity position adjustments.
-
Manage the company's asset-based lending (ABL) facility, including bank reporting, borrowing-base requirements, and bank audits.
-
Coordinate production services and support financial, ISO, and other compliance-related audits.
-
Maintain strong customer and vendor relationships while resolving issues promptly and protecting profitability.
-
Identify and implement technology and process improvements to increase productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
-
Establish priorities, manage competing demands, and hold team members accountable for performance.
-
Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving and help keep the business moving when priorities change or unexpected challenges arise.
Required Qualifications
-
Management experience, including building and leading a high-performing team.
-
Proficiency with QuickBooks and general bookkeeping and financial management.
-
Experience managing an ABL facility, bank reporting, and bank audits.
-
Ability to reconcile vendor accounts and true up commodity positions.
-
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and financial acumen.
-
Technology savvy, with experience implementing tools and processes that improve productivity.
-
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
-
Ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and remain calm and effective in a fast-paced small-business environment.
The Ideal Candidate
You're a self-starter who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, and doesn't need a corporate playbook to get things done. You can manage people without losing touch with the details, balance customer satisfaction with profitability, and bring structure to a sometimes unpredictable environment.
You have a strong work ethic, a sense of humor, and the desire to make a lasting contribution. You're looking for more than a job—you're looking for an opportunity to help build and improve a business over the long term.
If you're hands-on, commercially minded, and ready to make a difference, we'd like to hear from you.
