Position: NDT Inspector II – Direct Hire

Openings / Shifts:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM — 1 opening
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM — 1 opening
• 3rd Shift: Sunday night–Friday morning, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM — 1 opening

What They're Looking For

The NDT Inspector II will perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on commercial and military aircraft engine accessories, as well as land and marine engine accessories.

The primary inspection methods are:

• Digital Radiography (RT/X-ray)
• Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT/FPI)

Ideally, candidates will have experience with both RT and PT, but candidates with experience in only one method may still be considered. Candidates with only one method may be considered at the lower end of the pay range, depending on overall experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect hardware using approved NDT methods to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Set up and calibrate NDT equipment.
• Perform inspections and interpret/evaluate results.
• Document inspection results in accordance with approved procedures.
• Develop techniques/work instructions for digital RT and PT under Level III approval.
• Understand applicable codes, standards, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Provide guidance and/or supervision to Level I personnel and trainees.
• Perform failure analysis, product development, R&D and production inspections.
• Perform digital RT and CT inspections.
• Reconstruct and compile inspection data.
• Flex between NDT methods based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or higher.
• Must currently meet NAS-410 qualification requirements.
• Must be eligible to certify as an NDT Level II in Radiographic Testing and Penetrant Testing.
• Minimum documented experience/training:
  • Radiographic Testing: 1,600 hours of work experience + 80 hours formal training
  • Penetrant Testing/FPI: 400 hours of work experience + 32 hours formal training
• Must pass required general, specific and practical examinations.
• Must achieve required scores for Parker's Level II certification.
• Must pass 20/25 near-vision examination at 16" ± 1" and color deficiency testing.
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Assembly experience
• FAA Repair Station experience
• Experience with both RT and PT
• Digital radiography / CT experience

Key Recruiter Screening Item

Notes about the role: we do both X-ray (radiographic) and PT (penetrant testing) within our NDT department. Ideally , candidates will have some experience in both areas, but we are open to talking to those who maybe only have one or other, they will just be on the low end of the pay rate, maybe a little under depending on years of experience. One thing we do request of all candidates and will need to view before setting up a call will be their OJT records to confirm the number of hours experience they have. Since this is an industry standard, this is something they should hopefully be able to supply.

Candidates should provide their OJT/training records so the team can verify their documented NDT hours, particularly:

• RT hours
• PT/FPI hours
• Formal training hours
• Certification/qualification history

This is especially important because the experience requirements are tied to NAS-410 qualification standards.
