Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Craft Facilities Maintenance Technician to support onsite facility operations in Goleta, CA. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong HVAC experience and the ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs across multiple skilled trades.
The technician will support the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure while responding to maintenance issues and helping ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting across multiple facility and building systems.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, with at least 2 years of HVAC experience required.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform plumbing repairs and general building maintenance.
- Support light construction, structural repairs, painting, and facility modifications.
- Perform metalworking, machining, fabrication, or related mechanical maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues and identify appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Work with other maintenance and facilities personnel to resolve complex problems.
- Follow applicable safety procedures, maintenance practices, and facility requirements.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Lift and move materials/equipment weighing approximately 40–50 lbs.
- Perform other facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance; clearance is not required to start.
- At least 2 years of HVAC experience.
- Experience working across multiple skilled trades, including electrical, plumbing, structural/building maintenance, painting, or similar disciplines.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with light construction or building maintenance.
- Experience with metalworking, machining, fabrication, or related mechanical work.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
- Ability to work onsite in Goleta, CA.
- Ability to work a 4/10A first-shift schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, laboratory, or other technical facility.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience reading basic drawings, schematics, or equipment documentation.
- OSHA/safety training or relevant trade certifications.
- HVAC certifications such as EPA 608 are a plus.
