Welder
with our long-time Assembly/Parts Manufacturing Client in Livonia, MI.
This is a contract-to-hire
opportunity!
Shift:
1st: 7:00 am- 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with possible OT/Weekends
Pay:$26 - $28/ hour, based on level of expertise
Role Highlights:
To operate, set up, and maintain manual production welding equipment used for the fusing and repairing of various metal components using defined welding processes (i.e., MIG, TIG, Stick).
Components must be assembled according to engineering drawings and customer specifications while monitoring quality, processing paperwork, and maintaining the work area.
The ideal candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of metal properties. The role requires proficiency in weld operations, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fusing or repairing various types of metal materials together using welding processes such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
- Review job specifications to set up welding machinery, determine machine adjustments, and material requirements
- Measure and prepare workpieces using rulers, templates, gauges, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy
- Ensure completed products meet established quality criteria, including strength and compliance with specifications.
- Document quality and production records accurately
- Communicate with other operators, maintenance, team leader, and supervisor to maintain productivity
- Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance when needed
- Maintain company safety standards and inspection processes
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment
- Proficient knowledge of MIG and TIG welding processes required
- Additional Welding knowledge (i.e. Stick, Arc, Robotic, etc.) is a plus!
- Associate's degree or Welding Certification, preferred
- Bilingual/ Spanish-speaking is a plus!
- Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems, and inspection processes
- Ability to pass weld test
- Ability to read schematics, part prints, weld symbols, and drawings
- Ability to stand, reach, bend, or twist body frequently throughout shift
