A "Mezz picker " (Mezzanine picker) at the Newark Electronics
distribution hub in Gaffney, SC, walks or uses carts/scanners on the warehouse mezzanine levels to pull, sort, and accurately gather small electronic parts and technology products to fulfill customer orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Picking:Read pick lists or use RF/voice scanners to locate specific tech items stored on the mezzanine levels.
- Item Verification:Check part numbers, quantities, and product codes to ensure total accuracy.
- Batch Sorting:Place picked items into designated totes, bins, or carts for routing to packing.
- Cross-Training:Rotate to different warehouse functions (packing, receiving, or shipping) as daily production needs shift.
- Safety & Maintenance:Keep the mezzanine work zones clean, follow all safety rules, and report inventory issues.[ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Job Requirements
- Physical Stamina:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach during long shifts.
- Lifting:Safely lift and move up to 30–50 lbs.
- Attention to Detail:Strong focus on matching part numbers precisely to avoid shipping errors.
