2nd Shift MIG/TIG Welder

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, with occasional Fridays
Hours: 2:30 p.m.–1:00 a.m.
Pay:$18.00 per hour

Position Summary

The MIG/TIG Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, grinding, and finishing parts and assemblies. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, produce quality welds, and work both independently and as part of a production team.

Essential Duties

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding according to job specifications.

  • Set up and adjust welding equipment for each job.

  • Select the correct fixtures, tools, and materials.

  • Position, align, fit, and clamp components before welding.

  • Read and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, travelers, and other work instructions.

  • Use rulers, gauges, and measuring tools to check parts and weld locations.

  • Grind, file, and polish welds to create a clean, smooth finish.

  • Inspect completed welds and ensure they meet company quality standards.

  • Identify and report welding, material, or equipment problems.

  • Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean.

  • Enter or review job information using computer-based systems.

  • Assist with product development when needed.

  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous MIG and TIG welding experience is required.

  • Must be able to read a ruler and understand blueprints.

  • Ability to set up and operate MIG and TIG welding equipment.

  • Experience using grinders, files, and polishing tools.

  • Ability to use measuring tools accurately.

  • Must be able to produce clean and consistent welds.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for most of the shift.

  • Frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

  • Regular use of hands and arms to handle welding tools and materials.

  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Must have the vision and depth perception needed to inspect parts and completed welds.
