Overview

Client is seeking an MES Software Engineer / Technical Lead to define, develop, implement, and support standardized Siemens Opcenter, formerly Camstar, Manufacturing Execution System solutions across a global environment. This role will partner with business leaders, users, and IT resources while providing technical leadership for global manufacturing-system projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish application-development best practices and define the architecture for manufacturing systems.
  • Design, implement, and support manufacturing systems following standard IT practices.
  • Develop solutions using .NET, C#, AJAX, T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Server BI components.
  • Analyze business and system requirements and translate business goals into technically sound solutions.
  • Support the integration of ERP, MES, and shop-floor control systems into complete plant solutions.
  • Serve as the technical lead for global manufacturing-system projects.
  • Ensure development work is completed on schedule.
  • Document and communicate changes and impacts affecting manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers across a global environment.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Systems Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7 years of object-oriented application-development experience using .NET and C#.
  • Experience supporting IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and project-management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of application-development best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with .NET, AJAX, T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Server BI components.
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of source-code management systems such as Git, TFVC, and SVN.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
  • Strong understanding of ERP, MES, shop-floor controls, and their integration within plant environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multicultural and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills or Experience

  • Siemens Opcenter modeling and Designer experience.
  • Experience with Siemens Opcenter, formerly Camstar, MES solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing technically sound IT solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and the current Angular framework.
  • Experience working within Scrum or Agile teams.
  • Ability to translate between business and technology requirements.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills.

Work Details

  • Remote role supporting East Coast or Central U.S. time zones.
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • No overtime anticipated.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required based on project needs.
  • One-hour panel video interview.
  • Possibility of extension based on demand.
