Position: Biofinity Medium Volume Technician (Production Technician)

Shift(s):

  • Overnight Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM (12-Hour Shifts) Rotating Schedule: 2 Days On, 2 Days Off - Alternating Weekends Off
    • Example:
      • Week 1: Sun (Off), Mon–Tues (On), Wed–Thurs (Off), Fri–Sat (On) = 48 Hours
      • Week 2: Sun (On), Mon–Tues (Off), Wed–Thurs (On), Fri–Sat (Off) = 36

Pay:

  • $23.29/Hour (Base Pay)
    • + 15% Shift Diff. = $26.78

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor automated molding equipment to ensure efficient production and consistent product quality
  • Perform mold base and insert/tooling changes for molding operations
  • Monitor process setup using metrology and inspection systems
  • Respond to equipment alarms and perform minor machine adjustments and troubleshooting
  • Monitor production yields using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and advanced metrology equipment
  • Perform process testing, equipment adjustments, and tooling changes as required
  • Assist with corrective and preventative maintenance activities
  • Support equipment validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) and continuous improvement projects
  • Document process changes, test results, and production activities accurately
  • Notify leadership of equipment failures, process issues, or quality concerns
  • Utilize hand tools to complete equipment adjustments and minor repairs
  • Train or cross-train team members as assigned
  • Support production operators and assist in meeting departmental KPIs
  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, cGMP requirements, FDA regulations, and company safety policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum one year of automated manufacturing experience preferred
  • Associate degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred
  • Experience with injection molding, automated manufacturing, or metrology equipment is a plus
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and manufacturing documentation preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs and work instructions
  • Strong mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of FDA regulations, cGMP requirements, and quality systems preferred
  • Willingness to work overtime and scheduled holidays as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands for tooling changes, equipment adjustments, and inspections
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as needed
  • Manual dexterity required for operating equipment and using hand tools
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime when business needs require

Work Environment:

  • Cleanroom medical manufacturing environment
  • Frequent work around automated manufacturing equipment and moving mechanical parts
  • Team-oriented production environment with direction from Production Supervisors and Maintenance Technicians
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment with strict adherence to safety, quality, and cGMP standards
  • Occasional travel (less than 5%) may be required
  • Must follow all PPE, safety, and regulatory requirements at all times
