Schedule: 2nd shift: 3:30PM-2:00AM
Position Summary
This non-exempt position is responsible for producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Under close supervision, the technician performs a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine assembly, repair, and test operations following standardized procedures
- Ensure all work meets quality and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job documentation for manufacturing processes
- Record production data to ensure traceability and compliance with quality requirements
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding issues, ideas, and solutions
- Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate safety equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Support production goals related to quality, efficiency, and profitability
- Collaborate with supervisors/managers to set and monitor individual and team performance goals
- Support divisional initiatives, including:
- Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
- Other regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions
- Basic knowledge of electronic data collection systems and computer software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
- Manual dexterity to handle small components
- Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Environment & Expectations
- Work is performed under close supervision and is regularly reviewed
- Frequent handling of small, delicate components
- Interaction with internal teams and occasional external visitors (e.g., tours)
- Positive, professional attitude required at all times
