Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation:$90-130k DOE
  • Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Time Off: Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Protection: Life and disability insurance
  • Family Support: Parental leave

About the Role
  • Engineering role focused on the design and fabrication of pressure vessels and process equipment for the oil, gas, and nuclear industries
  • Owns projects from technical proposal through detailed engineering and release to fabrication
  • Requires strong hands-on command of pressure vessel calculations and structural considerations specific to process equipment — this is not a general manufacturing or parts-industry role
Key Responsibilities
Technical Proposal & Scope Development
  • Evaluate customer-supplied data (CAD files, drawings, specs) to define project requirements
  • Identify gaps between customer requirements and standard scope of supply; flag scope changes early
  • Support technical and commercial proposal development aligned with customer specs and industry standards
Detailed Engineering & Fabrication Support
  • Develop P&IDs from scratch or by redlining existing drawings to guide estimating and drafting
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations using process simulation software and in-house tools
  • Review and approve 3D models and drawings per company engineering standards
  • Perform process design calculations for control valves, regulators, and pressure relief devices
Codes & Standards
  • Perform ASME Section VIII pressure vessel calculations, whether by manual calculation or industry-standard software (e.g., Compress)
  • Apply ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and related standards to equipment design
  • Apply NFPA requirements for electrical area classification
  • Specify and design process control systems (pneumatic, electro-mechanical, electronic)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Instrumentation)
  • 3–5 years of engineering experience specifically in pressure vessel, process equipment, or heat exchanger design and fabrication
  • Direct experience with ASME Section VIII pressure vessel design required; strong grasp of underlying calculations, not just software-generated outputs
  • Hands-on exposure to fabrication processes (welding, cutting, forming, or shop drawing interpretation) strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of structural design principles as applied to skid- or vessel-mounted equipment
  • Experience with electrical area classification (NFPA 70/497) and mixed process control system design
  • Familiarity with process modeling and pressure vessel design software (e.g., ProMax or similar, and Compress) a plus, but not a substitute for calculation fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with in-facility drawing/design review and occasional shop-floor exposure (PPE required)
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
  • Occasional travel by car or air; light lifting may be required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
