Salary:$100,000–$120,000 annually
Our client, an established manufacturer of industrial equipment, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to lead product-development and improvement projects. This position combines hands-on mechanical design, engineering analysis, testing, documentation, and collaboration with manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Lead mechanical engineering activities for new-product development and product improvements.
- Develop solutions for product performance issues and Engineering Change Requests.
- Perform force, torque, stress, power, motion, and design-validation analyses.
- Conduct finite element analysis as needed.
- Create manufacturing-ready designs using SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM.
- Develop drawings, bills of material, test plans, and quality documentation.
- Build test fixtures and perform hands-on product testing.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams and outside vendors.
- Provide technical direction to other project team members.
- Support a strong culture of workplace safety and housekeeping.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 6–12 years of engineering experience in heavy manufacturing or custom machine building.
- Strong SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM experience.
- Experience with configurations within SOLIDWORKS preferred.
- Strong drafting skills, including dimensions, tolerances, and engineering symbols.
- Experience performing stress analysis through hand calculations, Excel, MATLAB, FEA software, or similar methods.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience creating macros is a plus.
- Understanding of materials, mechanical systems, and basic electrical concepts.
- Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, test requirements, and technical standards.
- Hands-on ability to build test fixtures and validate new designs.
- Ability to work onsite in Jackson, WI, Monday through Friday.
