Description:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Sensors, Effectors, and Mission Systems (SEMS) business team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to work independently with minimal oversight, accomplish assigned tasks efficiently, have a strong "hands on " mechanical aptitude, and have strong engineering judgment with sound technical acumen. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and performing various aspects of design lifecycles and production support, including but not limited to:
-Conceptual and detailed part / assembly design
- Trade studies
- Engineering drawings / technical data package creation
- Developmental / prototype builds
- Engineering support during fabrication and build of production hardware

Responsibilities could also include:
Creation and delivery of presentations to internal and external customers
Investigating discrepant hardware, components, or assemblies during assembly and integration activities

This is an exciting opportunity to work on various platforms, including naval, launching systems, and missile systems projects!

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering
(U.S. Citizenship required)
Minimum 5 years of professional (post-graduation) engineering experience
Demonstrated experience modeling within CAD modeling software such as Creo Parametric (detailed part and assembly design)
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Working proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Experience creating and modifying 2D drawings (Technical Data Packages)

Desired skills:
Demonstrated experience in organizing project tasks and delegation
Working knowledge of EPDM
Demonstrated knowledge of product design lifecycle (problem reports, change notices, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines
Demonstrated proficiency in Creo Parametric (detailed part and assembly design)
Experience interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
