Material Handler

Location: Shelton, CT
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay:$19.25–$22.00/hour, depending on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a strong, experienced Material Handler to join our team in Shelton. The ideal candidate will have solid forklift experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position plays an important role in keeping materials moving efficiently throughout the facility and ensuring production has what it needs, when it needs it.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently throughout the facility
• Move and stage materials, products, and pallets throughout the production floor
• Read, interpret, and accurately match work orders
• Pull and deliver materials according to work orders
• Wrap and secure skids for storage or shipment
• Scan materials and maintain accurate inventory records
• Load, unload, and move materials as needed
• Verify quantities and materials against work orders and documentation
• Keep materials organized and work areas clean and safe
• Communicate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed
• Follow all company safety procedures and operating guidelines

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Material Handler in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Strong forklift experience required
• Ability to maneuver a forklift safely throughout an active production facility
• Experience working from work orders and matching materials accurately
• Comfortable using scanners and basic computer systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Ability to lift and move materials as required
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment
