Material Handler – Metal Fabrication Environment

Nesco Resource is currently hiring experienced Material Handlers for a busy metal fabrication facility in Phoenix, AZ. This role supports production by moving, staging, and tracking raw materials and finished goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for supplying welding, cutting, and fabrication departments with the materials needed to maintain production flow. Candidates should have experience handling steel, piping, and fabricated parts, and be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished products
- Move and stage steel, piping, and fabricated components
- Supply production areas including welding, cutting, and fabrication
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
- Verify incoming shipments and organize inventory
- Stage materials according to work orders and production schedules
- Assist with packaging and shipping
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions as needed
Preferred Material Experience
Familiarity with the materials used in this facility is highly preferred, including:
- A36 Carbon Steel
- Grade 50 and Grade 70 Steel
- Stainless Steel Alloys 304, 308, and 316
Candidates with hands-on experience identifying, handling, and staging these materials will be strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of material handling or warehouse experience preferred
- Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience strongly preferred
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs consistently
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Basic ability to read work orders, labels, and production schedules
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
