Market Data Support Engineer

A leading financial services firm in New York City is seeking a highly motivated Market Data Support Engineer to join a fast-paced, high-performing technology team supporting mission-critical trading and market data environments.

In this role, you will support and enhance the systems that power front-office trading operations, ensuring the reliability, integrity, and performance of market data and electronic trading platforms used across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for Market Data and Electronic Trading platforms

• Troubleshoot issues related to Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and other market data technologies

• Monitor trading and market data infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and reliability

• Perform system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and process restarts as needed

• Support onboarding, configuration, and deployment of market data services and applications

• Collaborate with trading desks, infrastructure teams, vendors, and application support groups

• Analyze production issues and drive resolution through root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and system diagrams

• Manage monitoring and alerting systems for critical production environments

• Assist with automation initiatives using scripting and process improvement techniques

• Participate in infrastructure and application-related projects from planning through implementation

Qualifications

• 5–9 years of experience supporting Market Data or Electronic Trading environments

• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience in financial services

• Experience supporting technologies such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv RTDS/TREP, Tibco Rendezvous, Tradeweb, Fidessa, or similar platforms

• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server environments

• Knowledge of networking concepts including switching, routing, firewalls, proxies, and multicast

• Experience with scripting languages such as Unix Shell, PowerShell, or Python is a plus

• Familiarity with ticketing and documentation platforms such as JIRA and Confluence

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business users and technical teams

• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Capital Markets or Trading Floor support experience

• Exposure to low-latency or real-time data environments

• Experience supporting enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms

• Background in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or production support
