Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Avon, OH

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, support new product launches, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing manufacturing methods, implementing new equipment and automation, improving quality and productivity through Lean initiatives, and collaborating with engineering, production, maintenance, and customers to deliver efficient, cost-effective manufacturing solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing engineering, CAD design, ERP systems, and process improvement, with experience supporting custom manufacturing and capital equipment projects.

Job duties

  • Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, and work instructions to meet product specifications and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Convert engineering designs into manufacturing documentation, including ERP routings, SolidWorks drawings, fixtures, and setup procedures.
  • Lead new product launches, prototype builds, first-article inspections, and capital equipment projects from design through commissioning and operator training.
  • Design and implement automated and semi-automated equipment, tooling, fixtures, and safe workstations in collaboration with Maintenance.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives using production metrics, SQDC, root cause analysis, and waste reduction techniques.
  • Analyze production data to improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Provide technical support, cost estimates, project proposals, and customer-focused manufacturing solutions.
  • Support OSHA safety initiatives and maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems, audits, and corrective actions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD, 2D and 3D design.
  • ERP system proficiency (routings, BOMs); Syteline or SAP preferred.
  • Experience handling customer proposals, quotes, and pricing.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and inter- and intra-departmental co-workers, including sales and production personnel. Heavy interaction and consultation with Production Supervisors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience in copper or nonferrous metals fabrication, high-current electrical products, or custom/engineer-to-order job-shop manufacturing.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, waterjet or laser cutting, and welding/brazing/press-welding processes.
  • Lean manufacturing training or certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt); experience leading Kaizen, 5S, or value stream mapping events.
  • Experience specifying, installing, or commissioning new capital equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and maintenance/reliability practices.

Shift: 1 st (Monday through Friday)
Salary: $82K-$98K a year based on experience
