Nesco Resource is looking for a Manual Machinist located in Elmsford, NY. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM
Pay:
$24-$35/Hour Depending on skills and experience
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with exceptional technical skills, precision, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience operating manual machine tools, produce high-precision components, and working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual vertical and horizontal mills, engine and turret lathes, and surface grinders.
- Machine precision components to tight tolerances, consistently achieving ±0.0005” when required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Perform precise measurements and inspections using micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins, and gauge blocks.
- Work with both metric and English measurement systems.
- Assist with precision assembly and related machining tasks as needed.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and determine proper feeds, speeds, and machining methods based on material and job requirements.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and follow established safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production schedules and quality requirements.
- 15+ years of manual machining experience Preferred.
- Strong proficiency in operating and setting up manual mills, lathes, and surface grinding equipment.
- Ability to consistently machine components to extremely tight tolerances.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, technical drawings, and precision measurement techniques.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and material properties.
- CNC setup experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot machining challenges, and maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
