Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform installations, troubleshooting, and high-level repairs on diverse electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will work with minimal supervision to maximize equipment uptime and support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Identify root causes of malfunctions in power transmission components, including bearings, belts, cams, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.

  • Electrical Maintenance: Perform electronic component replacement and utilize advanced electrical troubleshooting tools (multi-meter, megger tester, amp meter).

  • Priority Response: Coordinate with maintenance supervisors and support personnel to address urgent equipment requests and minimize production downtime.

  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute and improve predictive/preventative maintenance programs; suggest updates to drawings, prints, and spare parts inventory.

  • Precision Measurement: Maintain and utilize a complete set of diagnostic tools, including calipers, dial indicators, and electrical meters, to ensure industry-standard repairs.

  • System Logic: Read and interpret Ladder Logic to troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLC), parametric, and industrial control systems.

Job Requirements

  • Technical Experience: Proven repair experience involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.

  • Manufacturing Background: Recent experience with industrial equipment such as extrusion presses, brake presses, cranes, and lift trucks.

  • Schematics & Codes: Ability to interpret complex written directions and schematics to specify components; working knowledge of industrial, mechanical, and electrical codes.

  • Safety & Compliance: Demonstrated practical application of ISO, MIOSHA, and OSHA standards.

  • Inventory Management: Familiarity with spare parts inventory control systems.

  • Tools: Must provide own personal tools and a mobile tool box/cart.

Special Circumstances

  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to satellite sites within a 15-mile radius .

  • Overtime: Ability to work overtime as required and assigned to meet production needs.
