Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift
Manufacturing | Connecticut | $30 – $36/hr

Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping a facility running at peak performance? We're partnering with a well-established Connecticut manufacturer to place a skilled Maintenance Mechanic on their 2nd shift team. This is a direct opportunity to join a company that invests in its people, values safety above all else, and offers a highly competitive hourly rate for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

You'll play a critical role in maintaining the equipment and systems that keep production moving. Day to day, you can expect to:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of mechanical equipment — from compressors and motors to conveyor systems, cranes, forklifts, and production machinery
  • Dismantle and rebuild equipment, identify defective components, and coordinate with your supervisor when outside services or parts orders are needed
  • Test machinery post-repair to confirm proper operation, with support from toolmakers and qualified operators
  • Operate metalworking tools including brake and shear equipment, cutting torches, and plasma cutters; perform welding and electrical wiring repairs
  • Fabricate guards and frames for production machines
  • Maintain the facility's Wastewater Treatment System in compliance with all current regulations
  • Execute preventative maintenance inspections, complete required documentation, and keep equipment properly lubricated and cleaned
  • Support facility needs including snow removal as required
  • Champion a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining current certifications in Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Welding & Cutting Safety, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, and HAZWOPER

What We're Looking For

  • 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to perform hands-on repairs including welding, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts — you can work through a problem methodically and communicate your process to the team
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to prioritize multiple issues as they arise
  • Team player who isn't afraid to ask for help and knows when to loop in support
  • Commitment to safety as a non-negotiable standard, not an afterthought

Physical Requirements

This role is active and physical in nature. You'll be on your feet in a manufacturing environment, regularly walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. The environment involves moderate to high noise levels, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Close vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity are required.
