JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To heat treat parts, tools, and materials involving carburizing, plating, hardening, tempering, annealing, stress relieving.
- Read thermometers, ammeters, voltmeters, indicating and recording instruments; use measuring equipment.
- Complete quality forms and other required paperwork
- Maintain a clean, safe, efficient work area
- Set up induction heaters; run trial heats; determine necessary voltage, current, frequency, feeds, speed, type of induction coil and water flow.
- Check sample piece for hardness and distortion; interpret samples for correct hardening technique.
- Will use material handling equipment.
- Recognize and immediately correct, without assistance, for difficulties and errors or cause to have corrected if fault is due to machines, equipment or material.
- Perform above duties without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs only.
- Consistently produce work of proper quality and of properly required quantity.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Be able to use basic measuring equipment scales and calipers Basic math skills required Required to follow written and verbal instructions Self-driven and able to self-manage Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required.
