Overview

Join our team in Chandler, AZ as an experienced engineer specializing in precision machining processes for aerospace turbine components. This dynamic role involves fixture design, datum strategy, CNC machining, grinding, EDM, and process improvement. Expect to travel up to 50%, primarily to Mexico, to support process transfers and supplier development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance machining processes for precision aerospace components.
  • Design and validate fixtures, tooling, and datum strategies for manufacturing.
  • Optimize CNC milling, creep feed grinding, high-speed grinding, and EDM processes.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and best-fit alignment using CMM and optical scan data.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and lead root cause investigations to enhance production quality.
  • Create process documentation and work instructions, supporting AS9100/NADCAP compliance.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to boost efficiency and productivity.
  • Support supplier audits, process transfers, and equipment evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in machining process engineering within aerospace or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, fixture design, datum transfer, and tolerance analysis.
  • Proficiency in CNC milling, grinding, EDM, and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX).
  • Experience with machining nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys.
  • Familiarity with CMMs, precision metrology, and AS9100/NADCAP environments.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 50%; valid passport or ability to obtain one.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
