Nesco Resource is hiring experienced Machine Operators for our client in Chesterfield, MI!
Pay Rate:$16.50/hour
Shift:
1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Schedule:
Monday – Friday
Overtime:
Available based on production needs
Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure quality parts are manufactured safely and efficiently. This position involves machining, assembly, inspection, and following established work instructions and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor machining equipment throughout the production process.
- Perform machine start-up and end-of-shift procedures.
- Load and unload parts and assemble components as needed.
- Inspect first-run and production parts using gauges and other inspection equipment.
- Verify parts meet established quality specifications and control plans.
- Record production, quality, and inspection data accurately.
- Monitor processes and report equipment malfunctions or abnormalities.
- Perform insert changes and CNC controller offsets as trained.
- Assist with machine changeovers, adjustments, and setup procedures.
- Use hand tools as needed for equipment adjustments and changeovers.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Follow work instructions, process specifications, and direction from technical personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures, MIOSHA standards, and company quality and environmental requirements.
- Cross-train on additional machines and processes as needed.
- May assist with training new operators.
- Support Quality, Shipping/Receiving, Inventory Control, and other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma required.
- Previous machine shop or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, work instructions, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, ratios, rates, and percentages.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Ability to identify and report production or equipment issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn additional machines and processes.
