Machine Operator

Position Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure efficient production while maintaining quality standards. This role includes machine setup, routine inspections, quality checks, basic equipment maintenance, and accurate production reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare machinery for production by reviewing work orders and production requirements.
  • Operate and monitor equipment to maintain safe, efficient production.
  • Load and replenish materials, including steel and paper coils, glue, coolant, lubricants, and other production supplies.
  • Perform routine quality inspections using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Package finished products according to production specifications.
  • Move finished products to designated storage or shipping areas.
  • Safely operate hoists and other material-handling equipment as needed.
  • Complete accurate production reports and documentation.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain regular attendance and work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred (6+ months).
  • Ability to read work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic production issues.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, heat, and varying temperatures.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
