Logistics Technician

Schedule: Monday – Thursday (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with occasional Fridays as needed

Purpose of the Job

To perform logistics and warehouse activities in support of inventory control, inbound/outbound shipments, and manufacturing operations at APM Mesa. Execute day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and economical receipt, storage, and movement of materials and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all traffic and logistics activities for material flow, including daily shipment reporting
  • Perform receiving, inventory transactions, and shipping processes using MPA systems (Mysis, Peachtree, and Access)
  • Examine incoming shipments against packing lists, manifests, invoices, and orders to verify accuracy
  • Pick, pack, seal, label, and prepare materials for shipment using appropriate tools and methods
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts; handle Full Truck Load (FTL), LTL, small package, and international shipments
  • Manage UPS WorldShip, high-value international shipping (SED, customs, duties), and dangerous goods compliance (CFR49, IATA, EAR)
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Coordinate with Production, Customer Service, and Quality teams to ensure timely deliveries
  • Process returned goods, handle complaints, and manage vendor returns or proper disposal
  • Assist with month-end physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance for domestic and international shipments (US Customs, EAR, ATF)
  • Communicate shipment discrepancies (overage, shortage, damage) to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all SHE, Security, and company policies

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, logistics, or warehousing preferred
  • Knowledge of import/export requirements and documentation

Key Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Proficient in forklift operation and material handling equipment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of performance standards and continuous improvement practices

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • Proficiency in shipping platforms (UPS WorldShip, etc.)
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance for dangerous goods and international trade
