Summary
Monday through Thursday 7:30am - 6:30pm (1 hr Lunch)The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in supporting the receipt, storage, and distribution of marketed products within a cGMP-regulated environment. This position operates within a distribution center setting and is responsible for executing receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities in the biotechnology industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack marketed products according to shipping orders
- Move products and non-GMP supplies using manual labor, pallet jacks, and powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, walkie riders, turret trucks)
- Perform physical inventory counts
- Conduct functionality and safety checks on equipment (e.g., forklifts)
- Access and update various databases with a high degree of accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Create, collect, and store records in accordance with corporate retention policies
- Participate in departmental projects, including:
- Investigating and analyzing issues
- Developing potential solutions
- Documenting processes
- Communicating findings and results
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5–6 years of relevant industry experience required
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Life or Physical Sciences preferred
- Equivalent experience in inventory management or the biopharma industry may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
- Strong basic math skills
- Proficiency in PC applications and business systems (e.g., SAP)
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as needed
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and move items weighing 40 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended period
