LOGISTICS MANAGER- MANUFACTURING

Position Summary

We're looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee inbound and outbound transportation for a growing manufacturing and distribution operation. This role manages carrier relationships, controls freight spend, and keeps materials and finished goods moving efficiently, working closely with procurement, warehouse, production, and customer-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inbound/outbound freight across LTL, FTL, parcel, expedited, and specialty modes, domestic and international
  • Build and maintain carrier, broker, and 3PL relationships; resolve delays, shortages, damages, and claims
  • Balance service, transit time, and cost when selecting transportation options
  • Coordinate receiving with warehouse and production; ensure accurate shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, customs paperwork)
  • Support inventory accuracy through shipment verification and audits
  • Oversee customs and regulatory compliance for international shipments
  • Maintain logistics records in ERP/TMS systems
  • Track KPIs (on-time delivery, freight spend, carrier performance, shipping/inventory accuracy) and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in logistics, transportation, shipping/receiving, supply chain, or warehouse operations
  • Experience managing LTL, FTL, parcel, expedited, and international freight
  • Working knowledge of transportation regulations and shipping documentation
  • Experience with ERP systems, shipping software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
  • Manufacturing or distribution industry background
  • Experience negotiating carrier rates and supporting import/export compliance
